Alert! Your mailbox is almost full.

I saw this email with the subject "Alert! Your Mailbox is full" in my official mail inbox. Didn't bother to delete emails as I work more on the client network. One day I was unable to send an email that is when I took a step forward to make some space. I sorted mails by size and deleted some emails hoping to get enough space. After a few days again I received an email that your mailbox is full. Then I realized that its not huge mails which were consuming space but there were too many small emails from multiple senders.

Isn't it same in our life? How many times we get consumed by small things. Many times it takes a lot of time even to make a simple change in life.

Life doesn't change with big decisions. It's about making those small insignificant daily changes that makes a big difference.

Our life can be divided into four areas. Which decides how well we do in life.

Finances
Health
Relationships
Spiritual

Finances

Most of the decisions are related to finance unless you have a big surname or bank balance.

weekend window shopping, un-planned expenses, buying things that you don't need with the money that you don't have to impress people that you don't like have made holes in your pocket and end of the month you have no clue where the money is leaking.

Small change to postpone buying things you want. Having a plan to make savings on a monthly basis. Can seal the holes of your pocket.

If you just try to maintain an account of your expenses for one or two months, you will understand that your majority of money is going on petty things which are absolutely worthless.

Health

Maintaining health is a fight. That fight is whether to wake up for an alarm clock or snooze for 10 more min. Whether to have breakfast or skip it. Whether to eat meals or eat pizza. Whether to exercise today or not. Choosing between taking the lift and using stairs.

Relationships.

Challenges in this area are because you always expect from others and accept your actions that whatever you did is correct. Try accepting others as they are and expecting more from yourself.
It's not that you will not have any challenge if you have the right people in life. It's about you being the right person.

I would like to share a quote which I often read and apply when it comes to dealing with people.

People are illogical, unreasonable, and self-centred.
Love them anyway.

If you do good, people will accuse you of selfish ulterior motives.
Do good anyway.

If you are successful, you will win false friends and true enemies.
Succeed anyway.

The good you do today will be forgotten tomorrow.
Do good anyway.

Honesty and frankness make you vulnerable.
Be honest and frank anyway.

The biggest men and women with the biggest ideas can be shot down by the smallest men and women with the smallest minds.
Think big anyway.

People favour underdogs but follow only top dogs.
Fight for a few underdogs anyway.

What you spend years building may be destroyed overnight.
Build anyway.

People really need help but may attack you if you do help them.
Help people anyway.

Give the world the best you have and you'll get kicked in the teeth.
Give the world the best you have anyway.

Spiritual

Spiritual is not about god or religious stuff. It’s about knowing yourself more.

Have you ever taken the time to understand yourself? Do you know what is your strength, weakness? What satisfies your soul?

The more you know yourself, the less you will worry about what others think of you. Take timeout to know yourself more.

Take time out to clear petty things before its too late :)
I will take a break to clear my inbox.

Caterpillar to Butterfly..

How many of you have a childhood memory of running around to catch a beautiful butterfly?  I would run around to catch a butterfly and later get disappointed as I missed it.

Alright, let me come back to topic. Do you know how that beautiful butterfly takes birth from ugly looking caterpillar?

Scientific studies say that one day, the caterpillar stops eating, hangs upside down from a twig or leaf and spins itself a silky cocoon into a shiny chrysalis. Within its protective casing, the caterpillar radically transforms its body, eventually emerging as a butterfly.

What happens inside a cocoon?

First, the caterpillar digests itself, releasing enzymes to dissolve all of its tissues. It grows an imaginary disc for each of the adult body parts it will need as a mature butterfly or moth—discs for its eyes, for its wings, its legs and so on. Later through complex biological process Caterpillar emerges out from cocoon as a beautiful butterfly.

Isn't it too much pain for Caterpillar to go through. Why can't it give up and live happily as Caterpillar? But then I thought it will never fly if it gives up.

Now put yourself in place of Caterpillar when you face challenges in life or working hard towards your dream. It could be a job challenge, going through a health situation, tough time handling finances, going through emotional roller-coaster in relationships, building a start-up or business. Etc. What is your thinking?

Are you thinking to give up?

Are you thinking it’s too much to handle?

But then remember if you give up you will never fly.

There was this person who was watching Caterpillar in the process of becoming a butterfly. He saw Caterpillar struggling to come out of the cocoon. He thought of helping it by cut open the cocoon. Caterpillar dies right there. Little did he know that the very struggle to come out of cocoon increases blood flow to wings, it starts flapping its wings and that is how it learns flying.

When you are trying to become butterfly some people can't see you going through pain, they want to help you by giving their opinion. They can be your friends, parents, relatives, siblings. It is not that these people are bad. Their intentions about you are good, but they don't know that you are born to become a butterfly not to die as a caterpillar.

Remember next time when you are going through the situation that you are in the process of becoming butterfly :)

Excitement... :)

Sometimes I get bored with the routine and get excited about something new Like I am blogging now.

As I was thinking about the topic to get started with my new hobby, thought let me start with excitement because I am excited right now as I am typing this post.

There is always some sort of excitement and joy when you do something for the first time. Be it the first day in school, first time pedalling bi-cycle, first day @ job, first time on the treadmill, the first time in flight, first time sky diving, a new hobby, first trip to a new country and many more...

And I have always found that excitement going down as we continue to do what we are doing. I believe most of you also feel the same. We were excited because it was unknown and there was an urge to learn something new. As we start feeling that I know it, we are no more excited. That is the reason most of us feel bored at whatever we are doing and seek excitement.

I often hear from friends "It's getting bored, let's go somewhere or do something else". I think one day we will be bored of doing that also.

So the only way to stay excited is to have an attitude to learn something new every day.

Read somewhere that "Excitement gets people started but it takes discipline to finish".

That's all in my first blog. stay connected and be excited until I bring more to you... :)
